Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It is a reminder that we will have Bible Study this Friday at 8pm at church. Please come, at your best effort. I know traffic is bad in LA!

I saw an interesting article from Next Magazine about Today's Wedding in Shanghai. People like to hire "fake" church and "fake" Pastor for the ceremony. I put the article on our newsletter. Feel free to leave comment about this phenomenon.

【 本 報 訊 】 原 來 除 了 成 年 人 相 信 有 天 堂 地 獄 外 ， 小 朋 友 們 也 相 信 有 天 堂 及 地 獄 存 在 ， 但 在 他 們 心 中 天 堂 、 地 獄 卻 與 成 年 人 不 同 。 一 項 調 查 顯 示 ， 兒 童 認 為 天 堂 有 玉 皇 大 帝 及 美 麗 花 草 樹 木 ， 而 地 獄 則 有 很 多 火 和 蟲 。 社 工 建 議 家 長 宜 教 導 孩 子 勿 輕 信 電 視 節 目 中 靈 異 的 情 節 ， 避 免 讓 他 們 觀 看 恐 怖 的 節 目 ， 因 為 這 可 令 孩 子 更 迷 信 和 害 怕 。 　 記 者 ： 黃 嘉 寶

「點 蟲 蟲 熱 線 」 九 月 份 進 行 「 你 信 有 天 堂 地 獄 嗎 ？ 」 的 調 查 ， 訪 問 了 七 百 六 十 一 位 六 至 十 五 歲 的 兒 童 及 少 年 ， 了 解 他 們 對 鬼 神 、 天 堂 地 獄 的 印 象 。 調 查 發 現 ， 八 成 一 受 訪 者 相 信 有 天 堂 地 獄 ， 但 他 們 對 天 堂 及 地 獄 的 印 象 卻 並 不 一 致 ； 有 七 成 六 人 認 為 天 堂 有 耶 穌 和 天 使 ； 不 足 一 成 人 認 為 有 玉 皇 大 帝 和 其 他 神 仙 等 ； 其 餘 則 表 示 不 知 道 。 至 於 對 地 獄 的 印 象 ， 三 成 四 人 認 為 地 獄 有 很 多 火 和 蟲 ； 其 次 為 想 起 閻 羅 王 、 牛 頭 馬 面 及 十 八 層 的 刑 罰 ， 分 別 有 三 成 及 兩 成 ； 其 他 則 說 不 知 道 。

夜 晚 唔 敢 去 廁 所

該 調 查 又 指 出 ， 兒 童 心 目 中 最 有 機 會 上 天 堂 的 人 原 來 是 信 耶 穌 的 人 ， 有 五 成 九 ， 當 中 以 女 孩 子 較 多 。 二 成 六 人 覺 得 是 從 來 無 犯 法 的 人 ； 一 成 二 人 認 為 是 犯 過 法 但 又 做 好 多 善 事 的 人 ； 百 分 之 三 人 認 為 是 每 日 焚 香 拜 神 的 人 。 五 成 二 人 認 為 人 死 後 靈 魂 會 去 天 堂 或 地 獄 ； 近 三 成 人 認 為 人 死 後 會 去 投 胎 ； 其 餘 則 認 為 人 死 後 便 完 結 。 「 點 蟲 蟲 熱 線 」 社 工 林 玉 清 說 ， 多 數 兒 童 喜 歡 看 有 關 靈 界 的 電 視 節 目 及 漫 畫 書 ， 這 有 可 能 令 他 們 疑 神 疑 鬼 ， 甚 至 造 成 困 擾 、 半 夜 驚 醒 ， 「 睇 電 視 節 目 ， 會 時 不 時 諗 起 當 中 影 像 ， 初 中 生 又 非 常 鍾 意 睇 鬼 小 說 ， 玩 塔 羅 牌 、 占 卜 ， 可 能 令 到 夜 晚 唔 敢 去 廁 所 、 半 夜 要 開 燈 覺 ， 長 大 後 可 能 會 變 得 更 加 迷 信 。 」


鬼 怪 影 像 留 腦 海

她 強 調 ， 若 家 長 也 是 迷 信 ， 對 孩 子 的 影 響 會 更 大 ， 「 畀 佢 接 觸 到 更 多 迷 信 ， 大 個 會 更 加 迷 信 」 。 電 視 有 關 通 靈 或 鬼 怪 的 影 像 會 長 期 留 在 孩 子 的 腦 海 中 ， 家 長 應 從 旁 作 出 指 引 ， 甚 至 避 免 讓 他 們 觀 看 ， 「 睇 多 會 更 加 驚 ， 千 祈 唔 好 諗 住 畀 佢 睇 ， 個 膽 先 會 大 ， 亦 都 要 教 仔 女 唔 好 笑 人 細 膽 ， 唔 係 小 朋 友 就 為 表 現 勇 敢 而 去 睇 。 」

Bible Study This Friday (Oct 21)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Time flies. It's October already, and we will hold Committee Election for Luke fellowship on November 11. Please pray that Holy Spirit will encourage more brothers and sisters to take the role of fellowship committee.

This Friday, Connie will lead Bible Study to talk about Serving in Fellowship. We hope that through this Bible Study experience, we will all be more sensitive to the need for helpers in the fellowship.

Oct 14 (Friday) Fellowship Program

Hello, Brothers and Sisters.

We all enjoyed a lot on last saturday's Evangelical Night! We see some new friends, and we all enjoyed the singspiration, the testimony, and talk so much! For me, it is a special experience, because it is the first time, I shared my religious experience with so many people in front of me. Thank God that I did so much better than I was at the rehearsal.

And.... Time flies, and it is 4th quarter already. We willl have election for Luke fellowship very soon. In the next few meetings, we will talk about serving in fellowship. We need to start thinking what direction we should take for the next year.

In this Friday's meeting, we will see some pictures of this year's fellowship. And, the current committee members will share their experience in this year's fellowship. We also would like to hear the experience of our small group leaders have, and the praise team. I hope after this Friday, everyone will start to think about what he/she can contribute to the fellowship.
